Tyre Deflation
Apex RPV Rapid Tyre Deflation: A Pressure-Gauge Demo
Video overview
What this clip demonstrates
The short shows a fitted Apex Rapid Precision Valve being used with a pressure gauge. The headline’s 35-to-10 PSI change illustrates the demonstrated valve’s speed; it does not establish a suitable operating pressure for every off-road vehicle.
An RPV is a replacement valve system, not the same tool as a conventional valve-core deflator. Installation, wheel clearance and tyre-pressure-monitoring compatibility should be checked before purchase or fitting.

Before you try it on the trail
- Verify the installed valve and wheel fitment.
- Choose the pressure target before opening the gate.
- Have a gauge and a way to reinflate at the exit.
Important: 10 PSI is the video’s example, not a general recommendation. Installation and use must follow the valve manufacturer’s instructions.
What changes with a rapid-deflation valve
In the demonstration, the valve cap is removed, a pressure gauge is attached and the valve’s gate is opened to release air. The gauge remains the reference for when to close the gate. The cap is then replaced. Use the manufacturer’s instructions for the exact valve installed on your wheel.
The useful distinction is control, not a race to empty the tyre. A fast-flow valve can reduce the waiting time at the meeting point, but the driver still needs to watch the gauge and stop at an appropriate pressure.
Compatibility and the pressure decision
Confirm fitment with the installer, including valve clearance around the wheel and compatibility with any tyre-pressure monitoring sensor. The manufacturer provides installation and clearance information; a short demonstration cannot establish that a valve fits every wheel.
Treat the numbers in this upload as the recorded example only. Decide the target with a qualified leader for your tyre, wheel, vehicle load and terrain. Bring an inflation method, check the finished pressures and return to the specified road setting before highway travel. Speed at the start of the drive does not remove those checks.

About this Ventrax video
Should I use 10 PSI because it is in the video title?
No. The title describes a speed demonstration. A safe pressure depends on your actual vehicle, tyres, wheels, load and terrain.
Is an Apex RPV the same as a screw-on tyre deflator?
No. It is a fitted valve system. Check the manufacturer’s installation and clearance guidance and your wheel’s compatibility.
